SPEAKER INFORMATION
REQUIRED INFORMATION
If you have not already done so, please send the below information to YOUR OPERATIONS CONTACT as soon as possible:
- Short biography (around 100-words and not CV) - for inclusion on the website and so that the Chair can introduce you correctly
- Headshot high-res and colour photo: digital format saved as a JPEG, PNG or GIF file
Please check that your biography and photo are uploaded correctly on the speaker listing, if not please reach out to us
- Mobile Number (so I can reach you on site in case of an emergency)
- Dietary Requirements (please specify)
- Special Assistance: Please inform us if you require any specific assistance at the venue
YOUR REGISTRATION - NEW FOR 2024
To access the event, you will need to register for your Speaker Pass. Shortly you will receive an email from our registration platform to register yourself for the event. This email will come from info@africatechfestival.com
Please follow the instructions below. You must complete this process using the email address that has received the invitation email. Please register as soon as possible so we can prepare a badge ready for your arrival.
All speakers must be registered with their own unique email address, duplicates will not be allowed in the system so please be mindful if using an alternative email.
- You must use this link to register.
- Enter your email address and click Submit.
(if you have not created an account before, please click 'Forgot Password' and follow the instructions to create a Password for your account) - Once logged in, complete the required details.
- Click complete and you will receive your confirmation by email.
Please note that if you require a visa invitation letter, you can request it during registration, and it will be included with your email confirmation.
VISA INVITATION LETTER
If you require a letter of invitation to support any visa application we would be more than happy to help! As part of the registration steps you will see an option to tick a box to issue a visa letter, if you tick the box you will receive an email shortly after with your visa invitation letter.
If you forget to do this you can always log back in and send one to yourself.
It is your responsibility to check visa requirements to enter South Africa and complete applications in advance of the event. Please be aware some visa applications can take some time to process so early applications are strongly recommended to prevent any problems in terms of attending the event. Please also note that Informa Tech/Africa Tech Festival do not take responsibility for the issuance of visas. We are unable to assist with visa applications beyond the issuance of the visa invitation letter.
We have partnered with Niche Dynamics to assist you with your visa application for Africa Tech Festival 2024.
Niche Dynamics can:
- Provide required supporting documentation from a South African company
- Compile your application
- Ensure your application is compliant
- Upload applications online with the Department of Home Affairs
- Secure your VFS appointment
- Follow-up with the Consulates or Embassies to ensure you get your visa outcome

YOUR PASS
As a valued speaker, you will be provided with a pass delivering VIP, complimentary access to our main event features, including: 12 stages of premium content, the exhibition and catering, VIP lounge, and social features such as the Happy Hour drinks and the renowned party, the AFest (12th November) (*).
(*) Speaker badges will not give you automatic access to the following invite-only events: LeadersIn Africa Summit, Africa Tech Festival Awards, Inspiring50 Gala Dinner and AFest. These features will require separate registration and attendance will be subject to specific attendance criteria. Please see below for more information.
YOUR ROLE
Please arrive at least one break in advance of your session and adhere to the guidelines below based on your role

YOUR ROLE - STAND ALONE PRESENTER
- Presentation files are due before 1st November and must be uploaded to our Dropbox here
- Please rename your file by using the "speaker name_organisation" before uploading
- Once uploaded, email your speaker manager to let them know to expect it.
- A laptop, data projector, screen and microphone will be available. Please let us know if you require any other equipment.
- Presentations will be made from a centralised laptop. A remote mouse will be provided.
- Note the comfort monitors in the room show a direct relay of the screen and cannot show notes.
- Presentations should be submitted in English and format are preferred in 16:9 with a minimum font size of 24 so that text is easily legible. Please do not submit PDF files.
- Any custom fonts will need to be provided by 1st November
- If you wish to include videos as part of your presentations these must be provided in .h264 format in the highest res possible .mov or.mp4. Should you have a different format, please check this with your operations contact ASAP.
- Please bear in mind the time allocated which includes 5 minutes for questions.
- If you wish to present from your personal Mac computer, you will need to bring your own adapter to connect to the system.
- If you would prefer your presentation not to be made available to delegates on the conference website/event app, please let us know.
- Please bring an updated version of your presentation on a USB drive to the event, just in case!
- Please ensure that you arrive in the break before your presentation.
- Some sessions may be filmed. If you do not wish to be filmed, please make sure you let us know.
- Please check your session(s) on the latest agenda. If you have any queries regarding the agenda please contact the producers.
YOUR ROLE - CHAIRPERSON OR MODERATOR
Pre-event
- An information pack with house keeping, health & safety, agenda and biographies will be provided before event to chairs
- The producer will connect moderators to the panellists to make introductions
On the day - Chairperson
- The chair will give a briefing on H&S and housekeeping and open & close the track
- The chair will introduce the stand alone speakers & moderators
On the day - Moderators
- Moderators should welcome and introduce panellists
- Give an introduction to the subject and moderate the discussion in the panel
- Include questions from the floor
- At the end of the session, wrap up with some closing remarks and hand back to the Chair
Chairs & Moderators are NOT required to submit slides
YOUR ROLE - PANELLIST
- Before the event, the producer will connect you to the moderator and other panellists to make introductions
- Discuss with the moderator and other panellists questions to be discussed during the panel
Panellists are NOT required to submit slides
THE EVENT APP
The event app will be launched and available to all to ensure you have enough time to complete your profiles and familiarise yourself with the functions. Our team will be on hand throughout the whole process to ensure you get the best experience possible!

PLAN YOUR TRAVEL
Getting to the CTICC is easy as Cape Town is a dynamic, cosmopolitan city with well-established transport systems in place. The CTICC is also conveniently located in the central business and entertainment hub of the city, and is close to many major attractions, and places to stay and eat.
VEHICLES & PARKING
With over 1400 secure visitor parking bays available, making your way to CTICC events is that much simpler. Accessible parking bays are available in P3 and P5 Parking.
Parking is charged at an hourly rate, and guests are required to use the convenient pay-on-foot parking ticket kiosks to pay for their parking.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Exhibitors in the expo hall, evening party hosts and organizers of concurrent activities should be aware they are subject to the code of conduct. Exhibitors and party hosts may not promote sexualized or offensive imagery or activities. Exhibition and party staff should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment. Participants asked to stop any behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant or sponsor engages in behavior that violates this code of conduct, Informa Tech staff may take action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.

By you entering this event, you give unqualified consent to: Informa Tech, its agents, licensees to record, use and publicise your voice, actions, likeness, and appearance, in any manner and media, worldwide in perpetuity. If you wish to avoid being recorded, please do not enter this event.
DATA PROTECTION
Informa Tech do not sell, nor distribute, attendee contact information in accordance with established privacy policies. Any company claiming to have such information to sell is not affiliated with Informa, and do not have access to our confidential records.

LEADERSIN AFRICA SUMMIT
The LeadersIn Africa Summit 2024, taking place on Monday 11th November is Africa Tech Festival’s exclusive, invite-only leadership event.
The LeadersIn Africa Summit is designed to be highly interactive with a scene-setting panel session, curated roundtables, and a special focus on impactful networking and meaningful connection through shared knowledge and experience.
In 2024, we’ll cover the most impactful topics and themes shaping African tech, from enterprise evolution and education, talent & skills to telco transformation and SME & start-up enablement, and more – all with a keen focus on sustainability and inclusion.
Please note this is an invite-only event, and there is very limited capacity. Invitations have been sent separately to those selected to attend.

INSPIRINGFIFTY CELEBRATIONS
On 10th November from 6pm-9:30pm, we’re gathering to celebrate InspiringFifty Africa, a global initiative run by EQL:HER that recognises the top fifty women who are making significant strides in tech careers across the African continent.
These awards hold immense importance as they provide a well-deserved platform for acknowledging the inspirational efforts of women in our industry. The winners of InspiringFifty Africa 2024 will be unveiled during an awards ceremony and gala dinner in Cape Town as part of the Africa Tech Festival on 10th November.

AFRICA TECH FESTIVAL AWARDS
Join us on 13 November, as we gather to honour the outstanding contributions of the telco, tech, and startup community throughout Africa at the prestigious Africa Tech Festival Awards. This event will be a celebration of remarkable individuals in various award categories, including 'Changing Lives,' 'Innovation for Impact,' and, in an exciting addition to this year's edition, 'Creative Visionary.'
This year we’re taking the celebration to new heights with a prestigious formal gala dinner at the iconic Bay Hotel in Cape Town.
