Startupbootcamp

Profile

Founded in 2010, Startupbootcamp (SBC) is the world’s largest accelerator network, helping startups scale internationally and transforming industries through innovation. Ranked by Forbes as the No.1 multi-corporate backed startup accelerator outside the U.S., SBC is a globally recognized leader in the startup ecosystem. In Africa, SBC Afritech is the first multi-corporate backed accelerator program dedicated to scaling top-tier tech ventures. Our mission is to empower African founders to solve the continent’s most pressing challenges by developing scalable solutions for both African and global markets.

Since 2017, SBC Afritech has supported almost 300 startups and invested in 70 companies from 13 countries, with 85% of our portfolio alumni still growing and creating significant impact across sectors like agriculture, healthcare, financial inclusion, and education. Our program has reversed the typical 90% failure rate for startups, a testament to our tailored acceleration model and long-term commitment to founders. Collectively, our alumni have raised more than $145 million in follow-on funding, with a portfolio valuation approaching $1 billion.

Furthermore, SBC Afritech has established a strong footprint across multiple African innovation ecosystems, operating dynamic accelerator programs in Senegal, South Africa, and Rwanda, as well as Bangladesh. From our hubs in these key markets and in partnership with institutions such as UM6P, Telecel, UNDP, World Bank, FMO, and AWS, we have catalyzed the growth of some of Africa’s most innovative startups. Our cohorts have driven local job creation, attracted international investment, and forged strategic partnerships with governments, corporate partners, and ecosystem enablers. Across our programs, we have maintained a strong focus on enabling startups to build scalable businesses that generate meaningful socio-economic impact across the continent and beyond.
