Eversheds Sutherland was established in 1989 when six major UK firms associated with the vision of creating a single national law firm. This was the first time that a law firm had tried to create such an organisation and over the following ten years, other firms joined so that in the year 2000, when our full merger took place, we became the largest law firm in the UK. Following the lead of our clients, it became clear that we needed to develop our international offering, consequently Eversheds opened offices and entered into associations to become Eversheds Sutherland in February 2017, which currently has 70 offices across Europe, the USA, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
