ZeroBionic
Profile
ZeroBionic is a Kenyan assistive robotics company developing AI-powered technologies that improve accessibility and inclusion for deaf and hard-of-hearing learners. Founded in 2023, the company has created robotic systems that translate spoken language into sign language in real time, while also converting signed communication back into text or speech. Designed specifically for classroom environments, the technology helps make STEM education more accessible to students who often face significant communication barriers. Combining artificial intelligence, computer vision, robotics, and sustainable manufacturing, ZeroBionic produces its devices using recycled plastic and has already piloted its technology in schools across Kenya. The company reports translation accuracy of up to 92%, supporting more effective interaction between teachers and deaf students. By leveraging advanced robotics to expand educational access, ZeroBionic is helping create more inclusive learning environments while demonstrating the potential of African-built deep-tech innovation. The company was selected for the 2026 Qualcomm Make in Africa Startup Mentorship Program.
