UNICEF's Closed-Door Roundtable: Global Connectivity for Schools and Public Facilities:

The closed-door session at the Africa Tech Festival will center around UNICEF's groundbreaking initiative to connect schools and public facilities worldwide to high-quality, reliable internet. As part of this initiative, UNICEF has conducted a feasibility study focused on establishing a global public network infrastructure, with the primary aim of supporting essential connectivity in underserved regions. This initial study, concentrating on East Africa, delves into both technical and operational pathways to address connectivity challenges from the first to the last mile, ensuring access to critical resources for those in need.

The session will bring together experts from across the connectivity infrastructure sector to review and discuss the findings of this study. Participants will have the opportunity to provide insights on identified challenges and potential solutions, fostering a collaborative exchange on strategies to develop a trusted, sustainable network infrastructure that promotes digital inclusion.
